I generally appreciate the mild climate of the Bay Area, and usually remark on the gorgeous weather of the place I live. My tune changed this year as May gave way to June and no signs of summer were showing. I fretted as gray day passed into gray day, with cold winds blowing whenever the sun did decide to shine. The interruption of the seasonal changes was surprisingly upsetting.
All this to say when I finally returned to Wisconsin this summer I was ready for 90 degree days and muggy nights. The two weeks flew by, surrounded by family and friends with agenda items like ‘epic fireworks display’, ‘jump off Brett’s boathouse deck’ and ‘pick up old canoe from craigslist’ getting checked off at a leisurely pace. The bugs were bad, fishing was worse, but the beer was cold and it was all soundtracked by a heavy rotation of summer classics and deep cut anthems which you can sample below. We may already be into September and realizing another summer passed us by too quickly, but these tracks will bring you right back to warmer days.
